Acer has claimed the No.1 position in notebook shipments worldwide for Q2 2012, according to data by market research company Gartner.

Acer’s notebook market share of 15.4% demonstrated growth rates of 1.2% quarter-on-quarter (QOQ) or 6.5% year-on-year (YOY).

In EMEA (Europe, Middle East,Africa), Acer notebooks regained the No. 1 position with 20% in market share, and representing growth rates of 3.8% QOQ or 22% YOY.

The Gartner data also showed that for total PCs, Acer ranked No. 3 worldwide in Q212, with 11.4% in market share.
